That's right. Pre-workout weigh-in. 183.7 (8/1/2018) |
Courtesy of the tattoo, I've been limiting my workout routines - trying not to do anything that stretches the pecs too much, and trying not to do things (cardio) that cause an abundance of sweat. Yes, I'm babying the tattoo - it's important to me, okay?
Here's the rough outline of what I've been doing the past 3 mornings (which includes today)...
- Hand rehabs - which works the forearms and shoulders a bit
- Core, back, arm, leg stretches (told you, rough outline)
- Bicep curls with cross-fit bands
- Planks (standard, sides, back)
- Push-ups (*fully extended to halfway down* - I'm not going chest to floor, not super stretching the pecs)
- More core / hip stretching
Legit, that's my workout routine this week - EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Cool, but are you eating? I know you like to skip breakfast...
Yea yea yea.... check this out:
- 4a - 7:30a: 10-12oz coffe and some water
- 7:20a - 9a: (at work) 2 slices of Dave's Killer Bread "Powerseed" (thin sliced), with peanut butter and honey ... and 12-16oz of skim milk
- (herbals / vitamins) 2x Alive! All-in-Ones (serving size is 3, I take 2) , 3x omega 3-6-9 complex, 2x Ginkgo, 2x Osteo Bi-Flex (for my hands)
- 11a - Noon: 2.7oz baked chicken breast, 1c brown rice, 1c(ish) steamed broccoli , and some Arthur Wayne's hot sauce(s) mixed in
- Noon - 4p: 1x fuji apple , and possibly 1x large banana
- 4p - 7:30p:
- (snack) some handfuls of popcorn ....or
- (snack) some almonds ....and/or
- (snack) a small handful of tortilla chips (good ones)
- (Dinner op.1) Mixed salad - 3oz Super Green's kale mix, pumpkin seeds, crushed walnuts, half an avocado, half a roman(?) tomato, diced celery stick, slice of large red onion, a couple handfuls of blueberries, 2.5-3oz of teriyaki chicken, and 2-tbsp Annie's Lite Honey Mustard Vinaigrette
- (Dinner op.2) 1/3 ground turkey split into 2 mini burgers (spinach, tomato, avocado, pickle, red onion, GF ciabatta buns, sweetener free ketchup, horseradish mustard), with homemade sweet potato fries
- (Dinner op.3) Taco salad - ground turkey, Super Green's kale mix, a bit of goat cheese, tortilla chips, salsa from Good Food Store, half an avocado mashed up, red onion, jalapeno, red chilli pepper
- (post-dinner) Either a small bowl of watermelon, or 1/3 - 1/2 bag of popped popcorn (no butter)
- Water all day long
- Occasionally a BRAAG Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (actual drinking beverage bottles, of various flavors)
- Rinse and repeat
This , more often than not, keeps me quite content.
So there you go. That's essentially my week in a nutshell this far. Dinner has been salad and taco salad. I'm planning on the turkey burgers tonight though - I have ground turkey I need to use, and doggonnit I love those fries!
You need to live a little eat more of a variety! Those meals are boring! Especially on a day in day out basis.
Says you. The salads I make, are unbelievably good! Yes, when I'm "planning" on having a salad for dinner, all the way through prepping it up, I'm kind of sad about it...but the second I take a bite I remember how amazingly good it is; in taste, quality, and nutrition! So honestly, I look forward to my "boring salads". The same can be said for my chicken, rice, broccoli lunches. Sounds super bland and boring (you'll get zero argument from me). However, adding the hot sauce to it gives the meal a very nice flavor and makes it that much more enjoyable.
It's all about the right types of foods. Complex carbs over other carbs (brown rice, sweet potatoes - good). Lean protein (chicken baby!). Monounsaturated / Polyunsaturated fats (nuts, avocado, etc). ....and all of the other nutrients I get from the items used. There are items in there I'm not much of a fan of. I don't really care for broccoli, kale, tomatoes, and a few other things. But I eat them. Because of what they do for me.
At this point, I've been typing for way too long and need to hit the shower! Hopefully you learned something from this - if anything, I hope you learned that I'm taking care of myself physically and nutritionally.
Keep your head up, and keep on grindin'! The only person who can stop you from achieving greatness, is YOU.
